Handling a project will require a guide in order to finish the project at a given time. Almost, if not all projects, have their own deadlines. If you are the project manager, it is imperative for you to align with the project management life cycle. This consists of four major stages which are as follows:
The first one is the initiation stage. This is where the objectives, goal and aims are determined. Since this stage commences the project, it is important to make things clear. If there are any issues that can be resolved in this early stage, it should be done already so as to properly start the project. A project manager is also assigned in this phase and he is given the authority to choose his team mates.
Planning comes in next. If you look at a project as a whole, it may be very confusing that is why planning is needed to subdivide tasks and assign it to those who are experts in each field. Once you have a concrete plan, it will be easier to manage time and cost.
The third stage is execution wherein implementation of the plans will be monitored by the project manager. He must have a quick thinking ability as to decide on critical matters that may come abruptly. He should always be alert and ready.
The last stage is the closure. It will be a benefit for both parties if a closure is executed. Meaning all reports and documentations has been submitted. No pending tasks and all project concerns have been checked by the project manager in order to close the project formally.
