Project management objectives can be very helpful in determining the success of a project that is why in the initial stage where you need to formulate the objective, it needs to be defined clearly and should be SMART - specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound.
There are certain elements that go along with project management objectives. These are:
Time – Refers to the allocated time that is assigned per task. It is highly essential to adhere to the time schedule so there will be no delay that will be experienced in the execution of the project.
Budget – It covers the cost that will be spent in carrying out tasks. Being able to stay within the budget is one of the things that the project manger should oversee.
Performance and Quality – In times where there is a need to rush things because the project is behind schedule, it is important to still maintain good quality.
To meet project objectives, changes may be done in the project for as long as these changes will help in the fulfillment of the objective, will not cause too much problem with the other elements of the project and most importantly, it should be approved by the project sponsor and the management.
